Stella is a Research Director in the Centre for Research & Technology Hellas (CERTH) and since 2023 Chair of Board of directors of NOESIS Science Center and Technology Museum. Her research interests focus on the development and intensification of novel technologies for the production of carbon-neutral fuels and chemicals, as well as e-fuels. Her research activities are supported by competitive European and National research projects, and direct service contracts with EU and non-EU industrial partners. She is the author of numerous scientific publications in technical journals, conference proceedings and monographs.

Stella is a Chemical Engineering graduate from the Aristotle University of Thessaloniki with a PhD from Lehigh University USA, and she has significant industrial experience from ExxonMobil, FMC Incorporation and Air Liquide. She is an active member of several scientific and technology committees and associations including the European Technology and Innovation Platform for Bioenergy.
