George Smirnis has been working for 32 years as a journalist. He has been employed by the biggest Greek television channels, AlphaTV, Mega Channel, ANT1 and ERT. He has also worked for radio stations Alpha 9.89, Flash radio, numerous newspapers, magazines and news websites.

He has climbed the ladder of hierarchy in the media field, (reporter, political journalist, head of division, editor in chief, editor’s director, news and current affairs director). He has excellent knowledge of the structure and the operations of the media.

He excelled in covering the civil war of Yugoslavia, the uprising in Albania, London metro bomb attacks and the clashes in Middle East. Covering the process of the Athens Olympic Games 2004 organization, provided him with valuable experience.

He speaks English.
He is married and father of two children.
